When deciding where in the world to live, there are certain factors that are important to consider. Expats everywhere are looking for cities that offer a high quality of life, low cost of living, wide variety of good paying job opportunities and an ease of settling into life in that new place.
InterNations, an expatriate network, recently released its 2017 list of the best cities for living and working abroad. Almost 8,000 people in 40 countries submitted survey responses where quality and cost of living, quality of work life, finances and ease of settling in were all factors in the rankings. The cities that ranked highest span the world and offer unique cultural experiences and safe environments, in addition to the other qualities mentioned above.
According to the survey, the Top Ten Best Cities for Expats are:

- Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
- Amsterdam, Netherlands
- Barcelona, Spain
- Johannesburg, South Africa
- Bangkok, Thailand
- Basel, Switzerland
